Hardwood Lookalike Tiles in Downtown LA

Posted by Daniel Mizrahi on Saturday, August 16, 2014

When you think of kitchen flooring options for either an existing home, new construction, or home remodeling, what comes to mind? Probably linoleum, or maybe stone tile? After all, those have been the go-to option for kitchens for a long, long time.

So, why not hardwood?

Well, on one hand hardwood can be quite expensive. On top of that, it requires a certain amount of maintenance and protection to keep it looking its absolute best. The warm gleam and natural charm of wood can quickly be obscured by dings, scratches, and the general beating that comes with being underfoot in a high-traffic area.

And then there’s the cleaning…

Have you ever heard the phrase: a good cook is a messy cook? You probably are slow to subject hardwood to the rigorous cleaning and harsher chemicals needed in a kitchen environment, and for good reason!

A Rugged Alternative to Hardwood

We’ve talked before about the benefits of hardwood lookalike tiles in bathrooms. But did you know they look great in kitchens as well? And, they are an awesome alternative to traditional hardwood for all the aforementioned reasons: less expensive, durable, resistant to moisture, lower maintenance, and they are available in some truly breathtaking styles.

Take a look at this kitchen remodel in Downtown LA that we recently finished! This is a real-world example of this unique tile. What do you think? Leave us a comment and let us know, or if you think this might be helpful to someone you know, why not share it?
