Historic Home Remodeling In Highland Park, LA

historic home remodeling

When it comes to home remodeling and renovation, you generally don’t have to give a second thought to expanding living spaces, knocking down walls (provided it’s structurally safe!), and updating interiors and exteriors. After all, that’s the fun of the work: out with the old styling and dated look, and in with exactly what you are dreaming about for the spaces you live in.

But what about when it’s not that simple?

Remodeling Historic Properties

Remodeling and renovating places of historic value certainly adds another layer to the process. A great example of this is a home we were asked to recondition in Highland Park, LA.

The owners would like a new, modern spin in their house. At the same time, however, we are working in a way that is respectful of the neighborhood, applying a new look for the interior without compromising any of the historic integrity of the property. After all, this particular home is over 100 years old! That’s something worth preserving.

We will be posting pictures soon of our progress! Stay tuned. Also, if you have experience working in an older home and striking this kind of respectful remodeling balance, we’d love to hear about it. Why not leave a comment?
